The Procedures of Cold Light Whitening

Cold light whitening technique is using the wavelength range of 480-520 nanometer high-intensity blue light ,combined with a professional dental-grade hydrogen peroxide whitening gel (25-38% hydrogen peroxide), after a special optical process removes harmful infrared and ultraviolet light, this rapidly whitens the entire surface of all 16 front teeth that restoring them to beautiful, naturally white looking teeth.



Before having cold light whitening, the dentist has to examine the patient’s oral condition and talk with the patient. It has to be mentioned that people who are under age of 16 or have serious periodontitis and pregnant women are not suitable to have this treatment. The dentist will record and takes photos of the teeth for later comparison. Then the dentist and the patient wear goggles to protect eyes and treatment begins.

Step 1. Polishing.

Mix polishing powder with water and spread on the teeth surface. Then rinse your month and the dentist dry the teeth.


Step 2. Applying lip protection oil. 

Place some wet cotton cloth on the inner side of lip and apply the lip protection oil on the lip.


Step 3. Applying light-cured resin.

Apply light-cured resin on gum surface and exposure to curing light for 2-3 seconds.


Step 4. Place mouth gag.

Place the mouth gag to separate lips and help the patient wear goggles.


Step 5. Place whitening gel.

Place whitening gel on teeth surface with 2-3 mm thickness.


Step 6. First whitening.

Turn on the whitening machine and exposure to the light for 8 minutes and then suck the remaining whitening gel with a sucker. Second and third whitening will be undertaken if necessary.


Step 7. Take off light-cured resin.

Take off light-cured resin and cotton cloth and clean them. Then take off mouth gag and goggles.


After finishing the whitening process, the dentist will take photos again for comparison. You can see the difference before and after cold light whitening.
