Published on:2017-5-9

Incisors are the eight teeth at the front of your mouth — four at the top, four at the bottom. A lack of incisors will not only affect your pronunciation when speaking but also your appearance when smiling.

Each tooth in the mouth is our "hero", and they play different roles and take different responsibilities. Our incisors are responsible for our appearance and pronunciation.

Just like regarding our body parts, when we feel sick about the incisors, we should receive treatment.

Should incisors be dropped out? What’s the harm?

Li Chuan, the chief director of Shenzhen A.K.J Stomatology Hospital suggests that before you hesitate to drop the incisors out, you should make sense for which reason that causes the problem. Only in this way can you receive the expectant treatment. Don’t think blindly that you have to remove teeth out.

Case I: Incisors injured caused by external factors

If incisors are slight loose caused by outer factors, patients can take some anti-inflammatories. Teeth will recover to the stable status after inflammation disappearing. If incisors are serious loose or even shifted, patients have to receive reduction fixation treatment and take some anti-inflammatories at the same time. If the incisors have totally dislocated, in other words, if the incisors have totally get off the alveolar socket and only connected with rare soft tissues, incisors must be restored immediately. If teeth fell to the ground and were polluted, we should have to rush by saline water or running water in a prompt way and then to place to its original position. On condition that it can’t recover right away, teeth should be saved under tongue, in milk, saline water or running water. Dry is avoid by no means. Then go to hospital for replantation.

Case II: Incisors injured caused by personal disease.

For example, teeth decay and periodontitis, especially periodontitis can lead to teeth injured. If slight loose caused by periodontitis, it can be recovered by effective periodontitis treatment. If moderate loose caused by the periodontitis, besides the periodontitis treatment, fixing the loose teeth and its neighbor teeth to lower load of loose teeth and to avoid worse situation, but mostly, it can’t be recovered. The last case is if heavy loose caused by the periodontitis, teeth should be removed.

Case III: Ugly incisors

It is not necessary to pull teeth out only because of ugly incisors. If the incisors are slight protruding, Orthodontic treatment and ceramic teeth could be considered. Do not remove the teeth easily.
