    Dental cleaning, also know as scaling or supragingival scaling, is currently the most common way to clean and whiten teeth. As living standard improves, people pursue more on varies kinds of delicious food. However, without good oral care after the enjoyment of tongue, there will be issues of yellow or black teeth.     By removing plaque, calculus and pigment, dental cleaning serves to prevent periodontitis and restore the natural tooth color. That’s why it can be conducted for whitening teeth. 



    1.Techniques of dental cleaning

    Nowadays, the common approaches include manual-scaling, ultrasonic-scaling and sandblasting-scaling. It’s far from enough to merely remove tartar, which will leave a rough surface, making it easier for the second accumulation of calculus. Thus, a polishing procedure following the cleaning is of substantial necessity.

    Though scaling can remove calculus and pigment, they will soon come again if there is no good care after the procedure, including daily brushing, flossing and rinsing. 

    It’s suggested to seek dental cleaning once or twice a year. For those smoking or eating areca-nut a lot, three or four dental cleanings a year may be better.
