Why Dentists Refuse to Extract Your Tooth?

Published on:2018-5-29

Tooth extraction is a really common kind of dental work, but is not suitable for everyone. Some may get rejection when they suffer from toothache and turn to their dentist for an extraction. Why? The dentists are unwilling to do that, or their technique is no good enough? Neither of them are the true reasons. Generally speaking, there are mainly two reasons accounting for dentists’ rejection to extract tooth.

On one hand, the condition of patients is not up to scratch for undergoing a tooth removal. It’s suggested to pull out teeth like supernumerary tooth, double-row tooth or impacted wisdom tooth. On other occasions, including periodontitis, periapical periodontitis or dental deformity, however, it’s necessary to take an X-ray check-up before making the final judgement whether an removal is needed or not. By and large, dentists should always cling to the principle of conducting extraction — that is to extract what needs pulling out and try best to keep teeth that are worth saving.

In most cases, dentists refuse to extract your teeth, majorly due to that your teeth are going to remain working following some proper treatments. It’s totally unnecessary to take them out and seek dental prosthesis.

On the other hand, your toothache may result from inflammation. Ordinarily dental treatment is not allowed when there’s inflammation in mouth, preventing potential infection and sufferings. That’s why most teeth along with pains cannot be removed at once. It’s necessary to mitigate inflammation in advance.

Hence, whether your teeth can be extracted is not decided by you will, but professional evaluation from dentists who would soon lose trust from their patients if they only blindly do whatever their patients ask for. Besides, it would also be a misunderstanding that dentists refuse to extract your teeth out of a commercial purpose to earn more money, since the price of teeth replacement after extraction will be far more higher than that of efforts to save them. Pay more attention to your oral health and take really good care of your teeth. It’s lucky for you to encounter a dentist endeavoring to save your natural tooth instead of blindly taking them out.
