12 years old Joey suffered from malocclusion, hence she was made fun of. She was sensitive at other people because of the way her teeth look. She had a difficult time at school and home, and dislike looking at the mirror. At home, she spended little time communicating with her parents and began suffering from social withdrawal. 

Joey’s parents discovered that due to her misaligned teeth, she was having a difficult time establishing friendships.They were remorseful for extended hours of work, and spends little time with her. At one point they decided to take Joey to an orthodontist.

AKJ Dental Hospital orthodontist Dr. Du Yi Ping performed a detailed oral examination and said: "Joey’s teeth misalignment are severe and more complex than I’ve encountered. Fortunately at 12, it is the best age to perform dental alignment.”
