Generally speaking, common causes for yellow teeth are shown as follows.

1.With poor oral hygiene, there will be accumulation of dental plaque and calculus, making teeth appear yellowish. In such cases, it’s an ultrasonic cleaning that should be sought to sweep away food debris, plaque and tartar. Following the procedure, the teeth are set to be cleaner and whiter. It’s suggested to seek professional cleaning at least once a year.

2.Those who are fond of drinking dark-colored beverages like tea, wine and cola or smoking are more susceptible to stained teeth, which is categorized as extrinsic teeth discoloration. This type of discoloration is quite common. Typically, ultrasonic cleaning together with polishing are expected to restore the natural tooth color. If you’re still not satisfied with the result, laser bleaching can be further sought.

3.There can also be intrinsic discoloration such as tetracycline pigmentation teeth and enamel hypoplasia. The causes of these inborn issues will be comparatively complicated. In general, dental veneers or porcelain crowns could be sought to whiten teeth, based on the intensity of cases.
