Wisdom Tooth

Published on:2018-3-22

Wisdom teeth are the third molars of human beings, which usually erupt in late teens or early twenties. That’s why they’re called wisdom teeth. Generally speaking, each adult will have four wisdom teeth, but some may have fewer or more, in which case the extras are called supernumerary teeth.

With a desired eruption, wisdom teeth will cause you no trouble and be a valuable asset to your mouth. However, in most cases, wisdom teeth are misaligned and even impacted, without enough room for them to come in. Due to their hard-to-reach location and awkward positioning, it’s quite difficult to brush and floss your wisdom teeth, making them more prone to tooth decay and gum disease. To deal with that, an extraction is always required. If there are signs of dental problem, get to your dentist for a checkup and seek proper treatments in a timely manner.
